Utility Plant Operator I & II

The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team at the Pecos Water Plant as a Utility Plant Operator I or Utility Plant Operator II. We are looking for someone to perform operational work in a water treatment facility, as well as monitoring and operating the City's potable water distribution system. Essential duties include: 1. Operates, monitors, and adjusts all water treatment plant process equipment including control panels, gauges, meters and SCADA system. 2. Monitors off-site wells, including operating equipment; reads and interprets levels, makes adjustments through SCADA; determines if there are equipment problems or need for on-site work. 3. Reviews data and determines the need for adjustments; makes treatment and operational changes to water treatment processes or distribution systems to meet water quality standards; may shut down and start plants as necessary. 4. Monitors operations of mixing, flocculation, settling and filtration and makes adjustments as needed. 5. Inspects, tests, and evaluates incoming supplies, materials and equipment; monitors inventory levels, estimates usage and orders required supplies and materials.
